Interview with a senior

The person that I interviewed was my cousin Steven who went to SJSU and graduated last year with a degree in biology. He told me that he was undeclared for the first two years then he decided on his third year that science specifically biology was for him. Some advice that he gave me was to not always get your work done and never procrastinate. Don't party too hard because it will slowly reflect in your grades and your not paying a lot of money to party hard and not get and education. The last advice that he gave me was that you on your own now its up to you and only you, if u mess around in college then you will not have a bright future in store for you but, if you do your work and pay attention you will still have time to have fun and party on top of that have a bright an exciting future in store for yourself.

Non-Muse Event

For my non muse event I went to the football game at home against University of Utah. It was actually a really close game I was surprise until late in the third quarter early fourth when Utah broke out of there slump and came attacking. Even though we did lose the game......(no surprise), our team stayed in that game against a nationally rank football team. The final score was 24-14 but we were tied till the fourth quarter. We did play good though I do give our team that they never gave up. Maybe next time we play them we will win. I hope.. GO SJSU!!

Scholarly Journal Article Summary

The scholarly journal article that I read was called, "Recording Notes: Ray Charles: The Genius and Friends at the End of the Road" by Blair Jackson. The article was about how even when we wasn't in his prime how up and coming musicians or already popular musicians still just wanted to work with Ray Charles this musical titan, which he is to say the leas. Then it went saying how Ray Charles played every style of music and turn every style into his own style. Lastly it talks about how Ray Charles was an artist who liked to have complete control over his albums. Also, he was a magnificent arranger and bandleader, a shrew businessman and ever learned engineering. Ray Charles accomplished so much throughout his career, also with dealing being blind, but still being successful and giving the audience amazing music.

Music memories #2

The two people that interviewed were my mother and father. They both gave me identical answers it was weird. They both said that when they were growing up they listened to elvis, chuck berry, ray charles, little richard. Then in their teens they agreed that they loved listen to rolling stones, the temptations, jackson five, the beatles, beach boys. Now my moms still listens to the same music including michael jackson, elton john, bee gees. While on the other hand my dad doesn't listen to music anymore unless he has to listen to it but I guess that he would listen to the same music.

MUSE Work shop #1

The muse workshop that I went to was a workshop to help deal with tests and the anxiety that can or will come with them. The speaker taught us how to calm down and relax before, during, and after a big test. First she told us that test anxiety is really common and it usually happens multiple times during a school year, then she went on saying that anxiety occurs when stress is excessive to the point it hinders the ability to perform well on a test. Some stress is good though because it gives you adrenaline but yet again she stated that too much is bad and will hurt your mind during a test. The feelings of test anxiety, you might experience rapid heart beat, upset stomach, shakiness, sweating, and rapid shallow breaths. Then we did an exercise to prevent of help calm your self from to much anxiety, so we put our hands to our side and took 3 deep breaths. Then she went on saying that others way to prevent from getting really nervous for a test was to be prepared, positive talk to your self, take care of yourself, and visualized doing well. Lastly she talked about rewarding your self after a big test, by doing something fun and interesting that would take your mind off the test. I enjoyed the workshop it really helped me a lot because I get test anxiety extremely easy and it shows when I take a test and my grade suffers.

Study Tip # 3

My next study tip is to always take notes during class, then review those notes before you go to sleep so in a way your slowly studying for the test so you don't have to cram the night before and then have test anxiety then do bad.
